Find Sweetness in Everything ~ Dream Pop Scrapbook Layout

It’s been a wonderful National Scrapbook Day filled with some scrapbooking, Facebooking, prom picture taking and now it’s time to cook some dinner for the family before I get back to some scrapbooking. Before running off to take prom pictures of our son and his date, I was able to finish up one of my ‘Dream Pop’ Online Workshop scrapbook layouts.

This is the featured scrapbook layout in the workshop and it used a lot of fun colors along with the May Stamp of the Month, Pinwheel. In the online workshop, I’ll share the cutting diagrams along with instructions and a step-by-step video tutorial to help you put together your very own.

I’ll teach you how to paper-piece the pinwheels to get all the different colors. Even though this paper packet has all-new exclusive colors to this kit, there are many existing coordinating colors of ink that can be used with this kit and I’ll show you which ones work best.

Here are a few close-ups of the pages along with some of the elements of the pages…

I created a Cricut® Artiste purse that is perfect for holding a gift card or piece of jewelry…especially for Mother’s Day. Along with the purse, I made a 4″ x 4″ card using the My Acrylix® Stamp Set, Perfect Fit-Mom.

The Cricut® Artiste purse is featured on page 35 of the booklet and I cut it at 3-1/4″. I also cut the rosettes using the Cricut® Artiste and the glossy-patterened cardstock. The rosettes are 2″ & 1-1/2″. I added some bling to both the purse and card using Silver Shimmer Trim and Clear Sparkles.

The card was made using White Daisy Cardstock and the sentiment was stamped using Slate Ink onto another Cricut® Cut featured on pg. 33. I cut the shape at 1-3/4″ which is 1/4″ larger than suggested on the contact sheet, which states 1-1/2″. I added a little bling and wrapped some white Baker’s Twine around the bottom.

Direct-to-Paper Technique using CTMH For Always B&T Duos Paper

While at the Close To My Heart Album Retreat a few weekends ago, a fellow consultant {I think it was Joanne Walton} shared a clever idea using our Exclusive Inks Stamp Pads {40 to choose from} and the For Always B&T Duos Paper. There might be another clever name for this technique, but all I can think of is direct-to-paper technique because you literally rub your ink pad directly to the B&T Duos Paper to get the desired effect.

I decided to give it a try using my Close To My Heart For Always Workshops on the Go Cardmaking Kit.

I chose to use a different color palette of Hollyhock, Whisper, Slate & Black.

This technique really can’t be any easier…lay your For Always B&T Duos Paper with a neutral background onto some scratch paper or desk pad and rub the open ink pad directly over and across the paper until you get the coverage that you desire. Set aside to dry for a few minutes while you complete your project.

Stampers from the Heart Team Virtual Swap ~ February 2013

Welcome to the Stampers from the Heart Team Virtual Swap! I am super-duper excited to share with you a few of my talented & creative team members and their fabulous works of art with you.

In this first Stampers from the Heart Team Virtual Swap, we are thrilled to share with you a versatile card pattern from the Close To My Heart Make It from Your Heart Volume 1 guide featured on page 42, Pattern 19. We each created our card using new products from the Spring/Summer 2013 Idea Book which went live today.

Here is my card using the new ‘Tommy’ Collection along with the My Acrylix Sail Away Stamp Set, My Acrylix Keyboard Uppercase stamp set, Round Durable Studs and Outdoor Denim Baker’s Twine from the Harvest Assortment.

Thanks Card using CTMH Tommy Collection by Reflections of My Art & Soul

I sponged the edges of the 1-1/4″ x 4″ Tommy B&T Duos pieces with Outdoor Denim ink, then trimmed one end of each piece into a banner shape. I punched out the circle anchor stamp using a  1-1/4″ Circle Punch, colored in the anchor with our Exclusive Inks Marker Set in Honey, then sponged the edges of the circle using Outdoor Denim ink.

IMG_2580

I wrapped some Outdoor Denim Baker’s Twine around the card twice and then adhered the anchor stamp images using 3-D Foam Tape. I stamped ‘THANKS’ using the My Acrylix Keyboard Uppercase stamp set in Cranberry ink. I cut them out individually, inked the edges with Outdoor Denim ink and adhered them to the card using 3-D Foam Tape.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I encourage you to visit my other Stampers from the Heart Team member’s blogs to see the beautiful works of art each one of them have created. Here is the list of participating members…
